Our Story

Saving History and Building Memories

Welcome to Murphy's Antique Mall!

For nearly 30 years, our family has filled this space with love, history, and vintage treasures. But our story goes back even further. Our family has been in the antique and vintage business for over 100 years!

For a century, we have traveled the back roads of America. We search tiny towns and hidden corners for incredible, priceless items. Our main goal is to bring these beautiful pieces of history back into circulation. We do not just sell objects, we see ourselves as caretakers who rescue history. Every single treasure we find has a unique story to tell, and we want to share those stories with you. It is a responsibility we take on when we interact with those families who have entrusted us with their heartfelt items.

We are truly driven by our wonderful customers and our amazing vendor family. Some of our vendors have been with us for over 25 years! We also share a very special bond with South Haven Masons, who have been fantastic partners on this lifelong journey.

When you step through our doors, we want you to take a beautiful walk back in time. It is a place where you, your family, and your friends can smile, remember the old days, and build new memories for years to come.

Caring for Our Community

Our love does not stop at historic treasures. We are also deeply passionate about helping our furry, four-legged friends. We work hard to support the Al-Van Humane Society by raising money and helping these wonderful animals find their forever-homes.

Thank you for being part of our story. Come on in, explore our two floors, and find your own piece of history today!

The Building

Murphy's Antique Mall is located inside South Haven's historic Masonic Temple building, a landmark that blends fraternal history with a bustling marketplace of vintage treasures.

The story begins in 1864 with the local Freemasons, the Star of the Lake Lodge. In the early 20th century, they constructed a grand Masonic Temple at 321 Center Street. The brick building featured two distinct sections: the upper floors held the Masons' meeting spaces, behind a grand staircase and tall white pillars, while the lower floors were rented to businesses — for many years home to a Murphy's Five & Dime store.

By the late 20th century, the Masons shifted their meeting spaces and the five-and-dime closed. The building found its second life when the retail space and lower level were transformed into Murphy's Antique Mall, keeping the historic "Murphy's" name as a nod to the old five-and-dime.

Today the mall stretches across two floors and over 100 dealers. In the cool lower level, old coal chutes and brick walls recall the 1920s; upstairs and down, the booths are full of glassware, cottage décor, vintage records, rare jewelry, and much more! The Masonic Temple began as a home for community builders — now, it's also a home for the pieces of history people love to collect.
